Free is my development for expedition kayak. Goal was a kayak which is easy and fast to build and good to paddle. This is actually fourth evolution and I really like how it performs.
The Free can be build quick and cheap. Flat decks make it easy to fasten hatches, but plans include also drawings for recess hatches. Cockpit ring can be build quickly from 4mm ply, but it is more nicely done from extra 9mm sheet.
The Free is designed both day and weekend trips .Design displacement is 111 kg /245 lbs ( including boats weight ), so longer trips are also possible if packing light. If you never paddled a kayak before the Free may feel first a bit tippy. Build the Free - be free. ( PLANS ARE FREE! )

Remember to select right paper format to match your printer. Plans contains two parts : building guide and 1:1 cardboard templates.
